How is contentment with Islam achieved?

Contentment with Islam or the sweetness of faith is achieved through three matters: that Allah and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else, that he loves a person for no other reason than for the sake of Allah, and that he detests returning to disbelief as much as he detests being thrown into the Fire. And he has tasted the sweetness of faith who is content with Allah as his Lord, with Islam as his religion, and with Muhammad as his Prophet and Messenger. To attain this, one must observe the obligatory duties, increase in supererogatory acts and acts of obedience, and abstain from prohibitions, so that the servant may gain the love of Allah.
