Is the prayer of one who prayed among drinkers of wine on an airplane, without touching them, or of one who prayed in the same room with a wine drinker who was in the bathroom at the time, accepted?

Drinking alcohol is a major sin. The drinker must be advised and forbidden from committing this evil, and one should not sit with him while he is drinking. He should be shunned if that would deter him. As for the prayer, the questioner's prayer is valid as long as his clothes, body, or place of prayer are not contaminated with alcohol. This is based on the opinion that alcohol is impure, which is the view of the majority. One who prays a fard (obligatory) prayer on an airplane must perform all its pillars completely, including standing, bowing, and prostrating, as much as he is able. If he is unable, he should pray according to his ability before the time for the prayer expires. As for a nafila (supererogatory) prayer, it is permissible to pray it while sitting, with gestures for bowing and prostrating.
