What is the husband's virtue over his wife that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was about to command her to prostrate to him?

A Muslim must submit to everything that has been reported from Allah and His Messenger, whether their intellect comprehends it or not, for Allah Almighty says: "The only statement of the believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge between them, is that they say, 'We hear and we obey.' And those are the successful."

The husband has a great right over his wife, for men are guardians over women by virtue of what Allah has favored some of them over others, and by virtue of what they spend from their wealth. The complete responsibility for the woman rests with the man; he is her head, her leader, her ruler, and her disciplinarian. Indeed, a man is inherently superior to a woman and has a greater advantage over her.
