Is a man cursed if his wife calls him to bed and he refuses to respond?

It is obligatory for a husband to ensure his wife's chastity and to respond to her call to bed when she needs it. It is not permissible for him to abandon this unless there is a legitimate impediment or excuse. The preponderant view is that the obligatory frequency is determined by her needs and his ability.
