Given the unavailability of schools for memorizing the Holy Quran and teaching its rules and sciences in my city, and my desire to teach my son and other children, especially since I am proficient in reciting the Quran and some rules of Tajweed, what should I start with: memorization or Tajweed rules? What is the youngest age at which a child can begin learning? And what is the optimal scientific method and the programs followed to keep pace with his progress in age?

Striving to teach the Qur'an is among the greatest righteous deeds, through which one attains goodness. It is advisable to begin with this task and consult some proficient reciters during weekend holidays to master Tajweed. Start by memorizing the Qur'an with Tajweed, and there is no harm in clarifying the meanings of the verses and rulings to the children if they can comprehend them; otherwise, focus solely on memorization.

There is no age limit for beginning education; rather, it depends on the child's level of giftedness and intelligence. The best method is to master spelling, then begin with the shorter surahs, and engage the senses of sight, hearing, and tongue in memorization. Recite the verses daily with tartil and a good voice, encourage them in this, and have them listen to the recitation of excellent reciters. Focus on continuous revision of previously memorized material and encourage them morally and materially.
