What is the ruling on the voice of the muezzin and the Qur'an reciter?

The Prophet encouraged beautifying the voice with the Quran, and this applies generally to both men and women. However, a woman should not do so in the presence of non-mahram men, to avoid temptation. A distinction must be made between beautifying the voice with the Quran and reciting with melodies, which a group of scholars have deemed forbidden.

As for embellishing and chanting the adhan, the Salaf disliked it.
