Is humanity the root of all evil and corruption?

Man's disobedience and deviation from Allah's straight path are the root of all evil and the cause of all affliction, as corruption appears on land and sea because of what people's hands have earned. Thus, either adherence to obedience to Allah, which leads to goodness, guidance, and success, or turning away from it, which leads to corruption on earth and severing kinship ties. So, whoever follows Allah's guidance will not go astray nor suffer, and whoever turns away from His remembrance will have a constricted life. And whatever misfortunes befall people are only because of their deeds, and if Allah were to punish people for their wrongdoing, He would not leave a single creature on it, because the sins of the Children of Adam could destroy everything were it not for Allah's forbearance and mercy.
