Is it permissible to lie in wait for prey at a water source in order to hunt it?

Allah has permitted hunting for those who wish to benefit from it, except in the Haram (sacred precincts) or while in a state of Ihram. Therefore, there is no harm in hunting on water or elsewhere, as long as the person is not in a state of Ihram, or in a place where hunting is forbidden, such as Makkah and Madinah. Allah Almighty said: "Lawful to you is game from the sea and its food as provision for you and the travelers, and forbidden to you is game from the land as long as you are in a state of Ihram," and He said: "And when you have left the state of Ihram, then hunt."
