What is the ruling on marrying a beautiful foreign Kitābīyah (woman of the Book) who might be the daughter of zina, given that beauty is an important factor, or a non-Arab Muslim woman of average beauty and uneducated, or an educated Arab woman of average beauty from the same country, taking into account the benefits of marrying a foreign woman for language proficiency and the preference for Qurayshi women among Arab women?

The Lawgiver permitted the consideration of beauty and lineage in marriage, but prioritized the criterion of religiosity over all others. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "A woman is married for four things: for her wealth, for her beauty, for her lineage, and for her religiosity. So, choose the religious woman, may your hands be soiled!" Therefore, the best criterion to observe is religiosity, followed by lineage, for a man's wife is his companion and close friend. It is permissible to marry women from the People of the Book, provided they are chaste and there is no fear that she will negatively impact one's religiosity, as Allah Almighty says: "And the chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture before you, when you have given them their due bridal money, desiring chastity, not committing unlawful sexual intercourse or taking secret lovers." One should be cautious not to prioritize a woman's beauty over her religiosity and character, especially if she is from the People of the Book. The Quraysh are the best people in terms of lineage. The advice is to observe the criteria of religiosity, education, and manners. If lineage is added to that, it is even better. Do not marry a woman from the People of the Book unless there is no other option.
