What is the share of each heir from the estate of a man who passed away, leaving behind four sons, five daughters, and one wife?

The inheritance, if the heirs are a wife, sons, and daughters, is divided as follows: The wife takes one-eighth due to the presence of a lineal descendant, based on the Almighty’s saying: "But if you have a child, then for them is one-eighth of what you leave." The remainder goes to the sons and daughters by ta'sib (residuary heirship), with the male receiving the share of two females, based on the Almighty’s saying: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females."

Accordingly, the inheritance is divided into 104 shares; the wife receives 13 shares, each son receives 14 shares, and each daughter receives 7 shares.

It is advisable to refer the matter to the Sharia courts or to consult with scholars to verify all heirs, wills, debts, and other rights that may take precedence over the heirs' right.
