How is the estate of a man who died leaving four sons, a wife, and three daughters divided?

If a person passes away leaving behind a wife, four sons, and three daughters, and no other heirs, then his wife receives one-eighth as a prescribed share due to the presence of a lineal descendant, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if you have a child, then for them [i.e., the wives] is one-eighth of what you leave." The remainder goes to the sons and daughters by way of ta’sib (residuarily), with the male receiving the share of two females, based on the Almighty's saying: "Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females."

The inheritance is divided into eighty-eight shares: the wife receives eleven shares, each son receives fourteen shares, and each daughter receives seven shares.
