Is it permissible for a migrant to return to the land from which he migrated to visit his family, and is there a limit to the number of days he is allowed to spend there?

A Muslim is permitted to return and reside in the country from which he emigrated if the reason for his emigration has ceased to exist (such as disbelief, the prevalence of evil, or the inability to perform religious rituals), because a ruling revolves with its cause, existing or ceasing to exist. However, it is better not to reside there at all. The restriction of residence to three days applies specifically to those who emigrated to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, from Mecca before its conquest; they were not allowed to stay there for more than three days after fulfilling their needs. As for after the conquest, some scholars permitted the emigrants to reside there. Based on this, a Muslim is allowed to return to his country from which he emigrated and reside there indefinitely, if he is safe concerning his religion and himself.
