The answer

It is permissible to take a woman's opinion if it is sound and in accordance with the truth. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, consulted Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, at Hudaybiyyah, just as Shu'ayb, peace be upon him, took the opinion of his daughter. And regarding the washing of Zaynab, may Allah be pleased with her, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, deferred the opinion to Umm Atiyyah and those with her. As for the hadith: "Consult them and then act contrary to their advice," it is weak and not authentic.
