How can one repent from tale-bearing, backbiting, and slandering people in their absence when unable to restore their rights or confess for fear of discord, problems, and resentment? And does Allah forgive those who glorify Him a hundred times a day?

According to Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever says 'Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi' (Glory be to Allah and with His praise) one hundred times in a day, his sins will be forgiven even if they are like the foam of the sea."

This great reward is for those who avoid major sins and do not persist in disobedience, not for those who insist on their desires and violate the sacred limits of Allah; as Allah Almighty says: "Or do those who commit evil deeds think that We will make them like those who believe and do righteous deeds—equal in their life and their death? How evil is their judgment."

Whoever repents to Allah with sincere repentance from all his sins, and then performs this dhikr, it is hoped that Allah will accept his repentance and forgive his slips; as Allah Almighty says: "But indeed, I am a Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues to be guided."
