Did the noble verse: "But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not" mean fighting only, or everything?

The verse is general, applying to all matters. A person may dislike something that is good for him, like fighting, which is followed by victory. And he may love something that is bad for him, like refraining from fighting, which may be followed by the enemy's takeover. Do not dislike the misfortunes that occur, for perhaps in something you dislike lies your salvation, and perhaps in something you love lies your ruin.
