What are the rights of the husband over his wife in all respects after the marriage contract and before consummation, and is it permissible for the wife to travel with her husband to his family's home in another city before consummation?

If a woman's marriage contract to a man is Islamically valid, she becomes his wife, and she must obey him in what is good if the prompt dower has been handed over to her. She is not permitted to leave the house except with his permission. However, before that, she is not obligated to obey him, nor is she required to seek his permission. Her husband is permitted to travel and be secluded with her. If there is a customary practice of delaying consummation, the husband should observe it.
