Is the wife, whose marriage contract has been concluded but whose husband has not yet consummated the marriage with her, obligated to seek her husband’s permission to go out and visit places he dislikes, or is her father’s permission sufficient?

A wife is obligated to obey her husband and seek his permission if she has moved in with him. However, if she is in her father's house and the husband has not yet consummated the marriage, the husband is not required to financially support her, nor is she obliged to obey him; rather, she seeks permission from her father. According to Sheikh Ibn Baz, as long as the wife is with her family, the husband has no right to command or forbid her, and she remains under the authority of her family. Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah held the view that a married woman's husband has greater authority over her than her parents, and obedience to him is more obligatory. Therefore, a wife is obligated to obey her husband and seek his permission after moving into the marital home. If the consummation of the marriage occurs after a period, the wife is under her father's authority, but it is preferable that she does not do what she knows her husband dislikes.
