Is it not true that the grave constricts every deceased person until their ribs intertwine, and that all people will be struck unconscious except Musa, and all will be questioned except the martyr, and that some martyrs will enter Paradise without reckoning? If so, how can these matters be reconciled, and does entering Paradise without reckoning mean death and immediate transfer to it without questioning, reckoning, or passing through the life of the Barzakh and the horrors of the Day of Resurrection?

The squeezing of the grave, the swooning at the blowing of the Trumpet, and the questioning by the two angels are established in the Quran and Sunnah. No one is spared from them except those who are exempted. The squeezing of the grave will affect everyone, but it differs, and prophets, martyrs, and those who die guarding the frontiers are exempt from it. Some of those whom Allah has chosen, such as Musa (peace be upon him) and the martyrs, have been exempted from the swooning. These three matters are true and will befall all people except those who are exempted. It is inconceivable not to pass through the life of the Barzakh (interim period), for everyone passes through it and is either blessed or tormented therein. The souls of believers are in bliss, and martyrs have a special distinction. As for those who enter Paradise without reckoning, they are various categories. Their not being held accountable does not mean they will not witness the terrors of the Day of Resurrection. The Prophet (peace be upon him) may intercede for some people, and they will enter Paradise without reckoning. Allah may admit them to Paradise without punishment or reckoning, neither in the grave nor thereafter.
