What is the Shar'i ruling on a wife's ill-treatment of her husband, her taunting him about her work, and her refusal to contribute to household expenses, despite his affluence and good treatment of her?

It is not permissible for a woman to curse her husband or scream in his face. She must obey and respect him, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If I were to order anyone to prostrate to anyone, I would have ordered the wife to prostrate to her husband." The best of women is she who pleases him, obeys him, and does not defy him. The husband must treat his wife well and overlook her mistakes, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Treat women kindly." It is not permissible for the husband to curse his wife, even if she is disobedient (nashiz). The treatment for a disobedient wife is through admonition, abandonment, and non-violent beating, not through cursing. The wife has no right to reproach her husband for her work. Her work is permissible with his consent, and she is not obligated to spend from her own money. If she does, it is better for strengthening affection.
