The more preponderant opinion is that he does not commit an act of disbelief that expels him from the fold of Islam. Therefore, the one who abandons prayer is not required to perform ghusl; rather, wudu’ is sufficient for him unless he is in a state of janabah. It is obligatory to repent from this grave sin and to make up the missed prayers.
