Is it permissible for a sick woman coming from the Levant to visit her son in Jeddah and perform Umrah to arrive in Jeddah without being in a state of ihram, and then enter into ihram from Jeddah a few days later after resting from the fatigue of travel?

If the mother intends to perform 'Umrah in addition to visiting her son in Jeddah, she must enter into the state of ihram from the miqat for the people of Syria (Al-Juhfah). It is not permissible for her to delay her ihram until Jeddah. Whoever passes the miqat without entering into ihram, and then enters into ihram after it, is required to offer a sacrifice (dam).
