Is it possible that the continuous method of warning against reprehensible acts within the home could lead to alienation and resentment from family members, especially given that the receptiveness to advice may be weak in these times?

Whoever sees an evil, let him change it. And indeed, enjoining good should be done in the best manner. If verbal condemnation leads to a greater evil, such as hatred of the Shari'ah, abandonment of obligations, or the persistence of the one committing the evil, then this condemnation itself becomes an evil.

One who enjoins good and forbids evil must be characterized by gentleness, softness of speech, cheerfulness, and good manners. For this is more effective in winning over hearts, as Allah Almighty says: {And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you}.

The educator should treat the disease, not the symptom. If you raise your child and your family to fear Allah and prepare for the Day of Reckoning, then you have treated the ailment. Denouncing apparent evils while their love is deeply rooted in the heart of the invited person, without offering legitimate alternatives, and without showing affection and encouragement to them, will result in the invited person inclining towards the evil and concealing it. The devil may even cause him to hate religion and religious people. And among the most beneficial means of enjoining good is good example and good character.
