What should a husband do if his wife rebels against him?

If a man fears rebellion from his wife (by the appearance of signs thereof), he should admonish her and remind her of his rights over her and the consequences of her rebellion. If she persists, he should abandon her in bed. If she continues in her rebellion, he is permitted to strike her with a non-injurious blow. If a rift between them is feared, the ruler should send two arbitrators from their families to reconcile them or to separate them.
