Adultery is one of the gravest sins. If a wife does not satisfy her husband, he is permitted to marry a second, third, or fourth wife, if he is capable. He must marry if he fears falling into the forbidden. Similarly, divorce is permissible when needed due to the wife's bad character and the harm she causes her husband. However, divorce should not be resorted to unless all means of reconciliation have failed, and cohabiting amicably, even if it means overlooking some matters, is preferable.
