The answer

This hadith was narrated by Muslim on the authority of 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir that the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, said: "Lands will be opened for you, and Allah will suffice you, so let not one of you be unable to amuse himself with his arrows." Its meaning is that Allah will suffice you in fighting, so that should not deter you from archery and training in matters of war, for you may need it one day. And it is an encouragement to archery. Ibn al-Qayyim said: The Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, encouraged them to amuse themselves with arrows when lands were opened for them. 'Uqbah ibn 'Amir has another hadith with the wording: "Everything with which a Muslim man amuses himself is vain, except his shooting with his bow, his disciplining his horse, and his playing with his family."
