How is the noble verse: "And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him" to be interpreted, bearing in mind that the Quran states that Abraham was a Muslim?

Islam is the religion of all prophets, and they all called for monotheism, submission to Allah, and warned against polytheism. They differed only in some detailed legislations. Allah Almighty mentioned many prophets—such as Abraham, Noah, and Jacob—as being Muslims. The interpretation of the verse: "And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from him" means that whoever worships Allah with a religion other than Islam, his deed will be rejected and unacceptable, because the religion of Islam includes submission to Allah with sincerity and obedience to His messengers, and every religion other than it is false.
