What is the ruling on making up missed prayers after repenting from practicing sodomy and masturbation and abandoning prayer, and is it permissible to suffice with supererogatory prayers instead of them?

Praise be to Allah, who has accepted your repentance from grave sins. You must frequently seek Allah's forgiveness (Istighfar) and feel remorse for what has passed, striving diligently in acts of obedience and worship, for indeed, good deeds efface bad ones. As for the prayers you missed, there is a well-known difference of opinion regarding the obligation to make them up (qada').
