What is the solution to get rid of comparative thinking with a former partner whose financial situation improved after losing his job?

A Muslim should not concern himself with what others possess. If he sees something he admires, he should invoke blessings for it to ward off the evil eye and envy. He should know that competition for worldly things is blameworthy and leads to animosity and destruction, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, warned. He must strive to remove envy from himself by being kind to the envied person, supplicating for them, publicizing their virtues, and loving for his brother what he loves for himself. He should also look at those who are less fortunate than him in provision and affliction, so that he may increase in contentment, gratitude, and patience for Allah's blessings.
