How many hours a day, or regularly, should a husband give to his wife, and is there a preferred directive or Qur'anic verses that specify a time commitment?

The Shari'ah has not specified a particular time for conjugal companionship, but it has laid down a general rule: "living together with kindness" (al-mu'asharah bil-ma'roof).

"Kindness" (al-ma'roof) encompasses good words and actions, companionship with the wife through sitting and conversing, and treating her as the husband would like to be treated.

It is customary for dwelling and companionship to occur at night, after the endeavors of the day have concluded. This is the fundamental principle in dividing time among wives.

And Allah knows best.
