What is the ruling of Islamic law regarding a husband allocating time for his wife and children instead of being preoccupied with work and accumulating wealth?

The marital relationship should be based on companionship in goodness. The husband must expend of his time, money, and effort what his wife and children need for their care. Seeking sustenance comes after fulfilling the rights of the wife and children. Islam has commanded good companionship towards the wife and clarified that the best of you is he who is best to his family. The wife, in turn, should be patient with some of the husband's shortcomings and cooperate with him in matters of this world and religion.
