Is hunting forbidden during animals' breeding seasons?

It is permissible to hunt wild animals from which benefit can be derived, with the exception of hunting within the Sacred Precinct (Haram) or during a state of Ihram. This is supported by the words of Allah the Almighty: "And when you are out of Ihram, then you may hunt," and by the various Hadiths of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning hunting matters. However, hunting for no benefit is not permissible, as it involves destruction. Hunting is not forbidden on the pretext of extinction. A Muslim should not be excessive in hunting, as it may lead to neglect of duties. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever lives in the desert becomes coarse, whoever follows hunting becomes heedless, and whoever frequents rulers becomes prone to trials."
