Hunting during the Sacred Months is permissible, except for land hunting within the حرم (sacred precinct) or by someone in a state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah, regardless of their location. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "Permitted to you is game from the sea and its food as provision for you and for travelers, but forbidden to you is game from the land as long as you are in the state of ihram. And fear Allah to whom you will be gathered."
