Should the questioner remain in France for work, hoping to leave when a job opportunity arises in a Muslim country, or should he inevitably depart? And should he pursue Islamic religious knowledge, disregarding his engineering degree, and if so, how? And should he seek knowledge in Morocco despite the difficulties, or should he travel to the East?

Seeking Islamic knowledge is one of the best ways to draw closer to Allah, as Allah the Almighty says: (Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees) (Quran 58:11), and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When Allah wishes good for someone, He grants him understanding in religion," and "Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim." Residing in a non-Muslim country is permissible if you are safe and able to observe your religious rituals, and it is recommended to call to Allah there. However, if you do not have a mandatory call (to Islam), then moving to a Muslim country is better, especially for seeking Islamic knowledge. It is not a condition to abandon your diploma; rather, you can use it for employment and pursue Islamic knowledge alongside your job.
