Is one who sends pictures or clips of cold water, drinks, and delicious foods to those who are fasting, with the intention of joking, sinful?

The fasting person is prohibited from eating and drinking during the day, and they should do so for the sake of Allah, seeking reward, as stated in the Almighty's words: "And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the night." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah عز وجل says: Fasting is for Me, and I shall reward for it. He gives up his desires, his food, and his drink for My sake."

Therefore, displaying images of food and drink to a fasting person to make them long for it, or to weaken their intention, or to beautify breaking the fast for them, is a forbidden act contrary to the intent of the Lawgiver. It is from the handiwork of Iblis, who turns believers away from the truth. If it is done as a joke, it is disliked and ought not to be done. Rather, the rituals of Allah must be glorified, and the significance and honor of the obligatory act must be recognized, and there should be encouragement and assistance towards it. Otherwise, it might entice those with weak faith to break their fast, and the one who jokes bears the sin for that. However, if the intention is genuinely to make the fasting person long for food, or to weaken their intention, or to beautify breaking the fast for them, then it is a forbidden act because it involves inviting to sin and disobedience.
