Is God known by the intellect or by the heart, and what is the difference between the two?

Ibn Taymiyyah says that the sound intellect does not contradict the authentic sacred law, and that whatever contradicts the sacred texts are corrupt fallacies whose invalidity the intellect knows. He reflected upon this in major fundamental issues such as Tawhid (monotheism) and Attributes (of God). The knowledge of God is attained through both the intellect and the heart. Reflection upon creations occurs through the intellect and then transitions to certainty in the heart. The intellect is understood as the innate faculty by which a human being knows, while the heart is the locus of knowledge and will. The intellect is connected to both the brain and the heart; thought and contemplation are in the brain, while will and intention are in the heart. Thus, the heart is the abode of guidance, and the intellect is the abode of thought.
