If the husband commands the niqab and its obligation is confirmed, shortness of breath can be overcome by staying indoors or by using an opaque head covering when going out. If the harm persists, the husband must be informed of the principles "no harm or reciprocal harm," "hardship begets ease," and "necessities permit the forbidden," provided that the harm is real. We advise the husband not to be stubborn. If there is no solution but divorce, it is permissible to seek a divorce, while striving to make the husband understand the ease of Islamic law.
