What is the ruling on the Imam repeating some verses of mercy or punishment?

There is no harm in repeating verses if it is for a righteous purpose, such as encouraging people to ponder, humble themselves, and benefit, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) did when he repeated the verse: "If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, You are indeed the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." However, if repeating leads to disturbing and distracting worshippers with crying, then it is better to desist.
