Is it permissible to adorn women's clothing without knowing whether the one who will wear it is immodest (mutabarrijah) or veiled (muhajabah)?
Among the conditions for the শর'ঈ hijab is that it should not be an adornment in itself. Therefore, it is not permissible for a tailor or similar professional to make ornamented hijabs, because that constitutes aiding in sin, as Allah تعالى says: "And do not cooperate in sin and aggression." As for clothes worn at home or under the hijab, it is permissible to adorn them and make them short, unless it is known with certainty or highly probable that the buyer will wear them in front of non-mahram men or go out in public displaying her adornment. In such a case, it is not permissible to sell them to her.
