Will an apostate who sincerely repented after recovering from a severe illness, which he patiently endured, be rewarded? And will Allah love him for his patience during his illness?

If a disbeliever embraces Islam, he is rewarded for acts of devotion that do not require intention, such as charity and maintaining kinship ties, unlike acts that do require intention, such as prayer and fasting. This is supported by the hadith: "When a servant embraces Islam and his Islam becomes good, Allah records for him every good deed he had previously done." As for a disbeliever's patience in illness, it does not become an act of devotion unless it is accompanied by seeking reward from Allah. Patience that is merely resilience or a natural disposition in a person is not an act of devotion.
