What is the ruling on lengthening trousers in their natural form, and does its ruling differ from that of the jalabiya regarding isbal (letting one's garment hang below the ankles), and would the same ruling have applied to it if it had existed during the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?

As for lengthening trousers [below the ankles], its ruling is like lengthening a shirt or an izar (lower garment), and scholars have differed on it. The majority of them consider it disliked (makruh) if it is without pride, while some have deemed it forbidden.
