Must a Muslim make up a fard (obligatory act) that he was prevented from performing on time due to circumstances beyond his control?

The obligations vary regarding what must be made up. Prayer must be made up whether it was missed out of forgetfulness, intentionally, or under duress. However, it is not permissible for a menstruating woman or a woman in postpartum bleeding to make up missed prayers, whereas they must make up missed fasts.

If a woman vowed to fast on a specific day and an excuse prevented her, she must make it up. Some obligations are not made up and have no expiation except repentance, such as not changing an evil when it is incumbent upon one to do so.
