Is a prayer missed due to negligence or the like to be made up, or is making it up restricted to what is mentioned in the Hadith only?

Scholars have agreed on the obligation of making up (Qada') for the one who forgets and the one who sleeps, but they differed on the obligation of making up for the one who deliberately misses a prayer. The majority went with the opinion that it is obligatory for him to make up, citing the Hadith: "If one of you oversleeps or is heedless of a prayer, he should pray it when he remembers it." They argued that the deliberate one is more deserving of making it up than the one who forgets or sleeps, because his sin remains upon him. Others went to the opinion that it is not obligatory for the deliberate one to make up, relying on the same Hadith which indicates the obligation of making up for the one who forgets or sleeps. Al-Qurtubi mentioned that the majority agreed on the obligation of making up for the deliberate one, citing Allah's saying: "Establish the prayer," and that it is a command that necessitates obligation and does not differentiate between whether it is performed within its time or after it.
