Is it permissible to spend the interest gained from usury on buying food for cats?

Whoever has dealt with usury must repent and cease these transactions, and dispose of the illicit gains by spending them on charitable causes and for the benefit of Muslims. It is not permissible to spend them on feeding cats, whether the cats are owned by him—because feeding them is his obligation from his own lawful wealth—or not owned, because usurious money is not his property; rather, it is for the benefit of Muslims. However, if he wishes to feed them from his own lawful wealth, there is no harm in that.
