If the wife stipulated continued employment after marriage, and the husband agreed, he is obligated to fulfill the condition unless the work involves a Sharia transgression. The wife must adhere to the husband's condition of not neglecting household matters. He has the right to compel her to perform her household duties if she neglects them, even if that leads to preventing her from working to the extent that ensures the welfare of her home, but he should not prevent her from working entirely. If combining work and household duties becomes impossible, she must leave her work if the husband requests it, and he has the right to compel her, and her condition is forfeited, because her condition is contingent upon his condition.
