Is the Quran one of Allah's attributes, and if so, how can it be carried in our hands?

Speech is an attribute of the speaker. If someone hears it, memorizes it, writes it, or reiterates it, this attribute does not transfer from the original speaker nor does it inhere in others. For example, the hadith: "Actions are but by intentions" is truly the speech of the Messenger of Allah - may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. Its presence in your chest or your writing of it does not mean that the prophetic attribute of speech has transferred to you.

Speech is truly attributed to the one who uttered it initially, not to the one who conveyed it or performed it. The speech of the Creator - glory be to Him - is uncreated. If a creature performs it through recitation or writing, then their performance is created, but the heard or written speech remains an uncreated attribute of Allah the Almighty.

The misconception that claims the Qur'an is an attribute of Allah, and Allah's attributes are uncreated, so if you say: "This is the very speech of Allah," then you have affirmed hulul (divine indwelling), is based on their assumption that the statement of one who says: "This is the speech of Allah" makes its rulings uniform, whether His speech is heard directly from Him or conveyed from Him.

So, when a Muslim says: "This is the very speech of Allah" or "What is in this Mushaf is precisely the speech of Allah," the intent is that this is His speech, not the speech of anyone else, and there is no addition or subtraction in it. It is not intended that it is His voice and movements. If people were left to their natural inclination, it would be sound.

If the speech of a creature is heard, conveyed from them, or written, no rational person would say that the meanings and words that were inherent in the speaker have transferred from them to the listener or the one who conveyed it, nor that they have inhered in the paper, nor that their words are the sounds of the one conveying it. How then can this be said regarding the speech of Allah, which was heard from Him, conveyed from Him, or written?
