Is committing a sin in Mecca considered as a hundred thousand sins, and is merely thinking about a sin in Mecca counted likewise?

Sins have their punishment multiplied in revered times and places. Thus, disobedience is more severe during the sacred months. Similarly, sins are magnified in Mecca, as Allah Almighty says: (And whoever intends therein [to deviate from the right course] with wrongdoing, We will make him taste of a painful punishment).

However, mere thinking about sin, which is a fleeting thought and a whisper of the soul, is not held against a person by Allah, due to the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned for my Ummah what they whisper to themselves, as long as they do not speak of it or act upon it."

But a firm resolve to commit a sin and the heart's determination upon it is a sin, and it is greater in Mecca than elsewhere, even if we do not find a text specifying that a sin there is equivalent to a hundred thousand sins.
