It is not permissible for those in charge of charitable organizations to take anything for themselves without the donors' knowledge, unless they are among those eligible, provided they do not show favoritism to themselves. They may take from it if they meet the description of poverty and need, and if the conditions for disbursing Zakat (definition) to the indebted (Gharimin) apply to them. As for increasing the allowances of the chairman and his deputy without the knowledge of the association's presidency, this is a betrayal if it exceeds the customary wage. If it is within the customary wage, it is not permissible except with the knowledge of those responsible for the donations.
