Does fasting the remainder of Ramadan count towards the sixty days of atonement for intercourse during Ramadan, or must the atonement begin after the month of Ramadan ends?

The expiation for intercourse during the daytime in Ramadan is freeing a slave. If one is unable to do so, then it is fasting for two consecutive months. If one is unable to do that, then it is feeding sixty poor people. It is not permissible for the expiation to be fasting during Ramadan, and it is obligatory to perform it immediately after Ramadan, unless it is feeding or freeing a slave.
