Is it permissible to continue a marriage contracted with a person who works in selling intoxicants and does not pray, knowing that his elderly mother is ill and in need of care?

Working in places that serve alcohol is one of the major sins. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed ten categories of people in relation to alcohol, including its pourer and its carrier.

We advise you to postpone the wedding, demanding that the suitor repent and leave his work in places of disobedience. If he repents, then complete the marriage. Otherwise, seek a divorce, and do not live with someone who does not pray and works in places of immorality.
