What is the grade of the hadith: "Raise your voices in prayer upon me, for it dispels hypocrisy"?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The words mentioned are not a prophetic hadith, nor are they found in the books of Sunnah, nor in the books of weak or fabricated hadiths. Some jurists, including Imam Al-Nawawi and Al-Khatib Al-Baghdadi, have mentioned the desirability of raising one's voice when invoking blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he is mentioned, without exaggeration, and during the Talbiyah.

It is important for a Muslim not to disseminate any hadith until its authenticity has been verified, for whoever disseminates a fabricated hadith without verification has attributed falsehood to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and will incur the threat mentioned in the hadith: "Whoever attributes to me what I have not said, let him take his seat in the Fire." And in another hadith: "Be cautious in narrating hadith from me, except what you know. For whoever deliberately lies about me, let him take his seat in the Fire."
